Akko MonsGeek FUN87 HE Magnetic Keyboard

In an FPS, the time between releasing a key and your character stopping decides who hits first. The Akko MonsGeek FUN87 HE is a TKL Hall Effect magnetic keyboard with 0.005 mm rapid trigger, 8000Hz over cable and a gasket mount, for anyone who wants the function row without the numpad.

Hakutaku switches and rapid trigger

The Hakutaku magnetic switches are linear, with 25 gf at the start of the travel, 48 gf at the bottom and 3.5 mm of total travel. Because key position is read by a magnetic field, you choose the actuation point between 0.1 and 3.4 mm and turn on rapid trigger, adjustable from 0.005 to 2.0 mm in 0.005 mm steps. If you’re still deciding, we explain the difference in Hall Effect vs mechanical.

The RT Stabilizer, with four levels, prevents accidental presses when rapid trigger is set very sensitive. Snap Key (SOCD), DKS, Toggle and Mod-Tap are set up in MonsGeek Driver or the web driver.

TKL layout and build

There are 88 keys: function row, arrows and navigation cluster, no numpad. The plate is aluminium, gasket mounted, and the stabilisers come lubed and demagnetised so they do not interfere with the switch readings.

The keycaps are double-shot PBT, Cherry profile, with side-printed legends. The ARGB lighting is south-facing and the feet let you adjust the angle.

Calibration and compatibility

The Cortex-M4 processor calibrates the switches automatically between -20 and 80 °C, so the actuation point does not change as it warms up. The keyboard accepts seven magnetic switch models from other brands; mechanical switches are not compatible.

GAMER UNLOCKED TEAM’S TAKE

Who it’s for: FPS players who want a TKL magnetic keyboard with a function row and arrows, fine rapid trigger and 8000Hz. The gasket mount makes typing softer.

Who it’s not for: Anyone who needs a wireless connection or a numpad, or wants to use mechanical switches. If you prefer a smaller layout, there are other magnetic keyboards.

Honest notes: Akko does not list the scan rate or latency for this model, so we leave them out of the table. The legends are on the front face of the keycaps: the tops stay clean, but finding a key by looking down is less immediate.

⚠️ ANSI layout and wired only: US (ANSI) layout, with no extra key next to the left Shift. If you type a lot in a European language, read our guide ANSI vs ISO first. It connects by USB-C cable only.
