KEFINE Quatio Hybrid IEM

A hybrid IEM only makes sense if each driver has a clear job. The KEFINE Quatio combines two dynamic drivers and two balanced armatures per side, with separate acoustic paths and interchangeable tuning nozzles to give you more control over the final sound.

Hybrid 2DD + 2BA driver configuration

The 10mm dynamic driver uses a DLC diaphragm and covers the full frequency range, while the 8mm PU + LCP dynamic driver reinforces the low end.

Two balanced armatures operate above 5kHz to extend the treble and recover finer detail. Bass, mids and highs are also directed through separate acoustic tubes, paired with an electronic crossover to control how each driver group contributes to the final tuning.

In practice, the Quatio is designed around a warmer, more musical presentation without leaving the upper frequencies entirely to the dynamic drivers.

Three stainless-steel tuning nozzles

The Quatio includes three threaded stainless-steel nozzle options, each with a different tonal direction.

Silver aims for a more neutral balance.

Gold focuses on transparency and clarity.

Black adds a warmer emphasis.

You can swap them directly on the IEM, giving you a hardware-based way to change the tonal balance without relying on EQ or additional software.

Five-axis CNC aluminium shell

Each shell is machined from aviation-grade aluminium using a five-axis CNC process. KEFINE states a machining tolerance of ±0.01mm.

The metal wall is only 0.06mm thick, helping keep the enclosure slim despite the four-driver internal configuration. The shell is then polished and anodised for its final finish.

Modular 3.5mm and 4.4mm plug system

The included cable supports interchangeable 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced plugs.

The practical advantage is simple: if you move between a laptop, dongle, DAC or dedicated audio player with different outputs, you can change the plug instead of replacing the entire cable or adding an adapter.

The cable itself uses four strands of silver-plated oxygen-free copper, with 98 wires per core and 392 wires in total.

Detachable 0.78mm 2-pin cable

The IEM side uses a standard 0.78mm 2-pin connection.

That matters over time. If the included cable is damaged, or you want to use another compatible cable, the earphones are not tied permanently to the original one.

Team Opinion

The KEFINE Quatio makes the most sense for who prefer a warmer presentation but still want some control over the tonal balance.

The tuning nozzles are the main differentiator here. Instead of locking you into one fixed signature, they let you adjust the presentation directly at the IEM.

The modular 3.5mm and 4.4mm system also makes more sense if you already use different audio sources or plan to move between single-ended and balanced outputs.

It is not the right choice if your priority is a strictly neutral reference signature, the warmer direction described by KEFINE may also not be the best starting point.
