WLMOUSE Beast X Max Magnesium Gaming Mouse

Ultra-light mice usually trade stiffness for weight: less material in the shell means less weight, but more flex under pressure. The WLMOUSE Beast X Max fixes that by swapping the usual composite for magnesium, keeping the weight close to what you’d expect from a plastic shell.

Magnesium shell: stiffness without aluminum’s weight

Magnesium is stiffer than the plastic composites usually found in ultra-light mice, and lighter than the aluminum used in premium shells from other brands. In practice, you feel less flex when gripping hard, without the extra weight that usually comes with more structural stiffness. The version available now, Solid Sides in black, weighs 44±2g.

PAW3950HS sensor and Nordic 52840 MCU

Same Pixart PAW3950HS sensor found in other WLMOUSE flagship mice, up to 30,000 DPI and 750 IPS max tracking speed. Processing runs through a Nordic 52840 MCU, different from the 54L15 used in other models from the brand. The max DPI is more than most players will ever use (the majority play between 400 and 1600 DPI), but the 750 IPS keeps a fast flick from losing tracking mid-motion.

Up to 8000Hz polling rate, adjustable

Polling rate configurable between 125 and 8000Hz, wired and wireless. At 8000Hz, the mouse reports position to the PC every 0.125ms instead of the usual 1ms at 1000Hz, cutting the delay between physical movement and in-game registration. Only pays off in fast competitive titles (FPS) with a system that can keep up; higher polling draws more battery and more CPU.

TTC Nihil and Omron switches: clicks and side buttons

Main clicks use either TTC Nihil Transparent Black Dot or Omron Opticals switches, depending on the brand’s specification. Side buttons use Omron Blue Dot. In practice, it’s a combination built for long-term durability, without the mechanical wear that causes double-click drift over time in cheaper switches.

Two receivers in the box: 8K dongle and Nano 1k

The kit includes two wireless receivers: the main 8K dongle, for polling up to 8000Hz, and a smaller Nano 1k receiver. The name suggests a 1000Hz polling cap on this smaller receiver, unlike the main dongle’s 8000Hz, but the brand doesn’t confirm this explicitly in the specs given. Likely meant as a more discreet alternative for laptops.

Team opinion

The Beast X Max makes sense if you want more structural stiffness than composites usually give, without going back to aluminum’s weight, and you play with larger hands: the brand’s size guide recommends an 18 to 20cm hand, with claw or palm grip.

⚠️ Single variant: for now it only exists in black, with a Solid Sides shell. Other colors and the Side Slits version aren’t available to order yet.
