MonsGeek M1 V5 VIA – 75% ISO Aluminum Barebone Kit, Gasket Mount & 8000mAh
79,90 € Inc. VAT
Key Features:
- 75% ISO Aluminum Gasket Mount — Enthusiast Build, Accessible Price – Full CNC aluminum case with gasket-mount structure for a cushioned, flexible typing feel. ISO layout with dedicated Enter and left Shift — the layout most European typists actually use.
- VIA/QMK — Full Remapping Without Software Installation – Every key, every lighting effect, every macro configurable via browser-based VIA. JSON files for ISO and ANSI included. Source code available for QMK.
- Ball-Catch Quick Release + 5-Pin Hot-Swap – Open the case tool-free in seconds. Swap any 3-pin or 5-pin MX switch without soldering. Build, mod, rebuild — no screwdriver required.
- 8,000mAh Battery — Wireless That Lasts – 86 hours with RGB on, 500 hours without. USB-C wired, 2.4GHz, and Bluetooth 5.0 (up to 3 devices). The battery outlasts most keyboards in this category.
- PORON Foam + IXPE Pads + PC Plate – Multi-layer sound dampening stack from the factory. The polycarbonate plate adds flex and reduces low-frequency resonance — a tuning starting point most kits charge extra for.
Mice Hand Size Guide
Determining the right size for your gaming mouse involves considering factors such as shape and grip style. However, our focus here is on the size of your hand in relation to the mouse. The measurements provided serve as a guide to help you make an informed choice:
Length: Measure from the base of the palm to the top of the middle finger.
Width: Measure from the joint of the thumb to the edge of the palm.
These measurements are indicative and are for reference only.
| Mouse Size | Hand Lenght | Hand Width |
| Small | Less than 17 cm | Less than 8.5 cm |
| Medium | 17 cm to 19.5 cm | 8.5 cm to 9.5 cm |
| Large | More than 19 cm | More than 9.5 cm |
MonsGeek M1 V5 VIA – 75% ISO Aluminum Barebone Kit, Gasket Mount & 8000mAh
The MonsGeek M1 V5 VIA Barebone ISO is a 75% aluminum gasket-mount keyboard kit for builders who want a solid platform without paying for switches and keycaps they'd swap out anyway. It comes with everything except switches and keycaps — and it supports the ISO layout, which most European keyboard kits still treat as an afterthought.
Build Platform & Structure
Full CNC aluminum case, top and bottom. Gasket mount with four silicone gaskets delivers a cushioned, slightly flexible typing feel that rigid-mount aluminum cases can't replicate. The ball-catch quick-release system opens the case without tools — push to lock, pull to release. For a kit that's meant to be opened and modified repeatedly, that matters.
The plate is polycarbonate (PC), which flexes more than aluminum or steel and reduces low-frequency resonance — the characteristic ping that hollow aluminum builds produce. PORON plate foam and IXPE switch pads are pre-installed. Most kits in this category ship with thinner foam or nothing at all; the M1 V5 VIA gives you a usable starting point without mandatory modding.
VIA & QMK
Every key is remappable via browser-based VIA — no software installation required. JSON configuration files for ISO and ANSI layouts are included. QMK source code is available for users who want to go deeper. Lighting effects (15+ presets) are also fully customizable through VIA. This is the version of the M1 V5 that gives up MonsGeek Driver in exchange for genuine open-source flexibility.
Connectivity & Battery
Tri-mode: USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless with included receiver, and Bluetooth 5.0 with up to 3 simultaneously stored devices (switched via Fn+E/R/T). The 8,000mAh battery delivers 86 hours with RGB active and up to 500 hours without — which means you're measuring battery life in weeks, not sessions. Polling rate is 1,000Hz on both wired and 2.4GHz modes; 125Hz on Bluetooth.
Hot-Swap & ISO Compatibility
5-pin hot-swap sockets support both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-compatible switches. The south-facing PCB avoids interference with Cherry profile keycaps. The programmable aluminum knob controls volume and lighting by default, remappable to any function via VIA.
Founder's Take
The M1 V5 VIA Barebone ISO exists because finding a quality 75% ISO barebone in Europe is harder than it should be. Most builders are forced to either use ANSI layouts or pay import costs and wait weeks. This ships from European stock, supports true ISO layout, and starts at a price that leaves budget for the switches and keycaps that actually define how a keyboard sounds and feels. The PORON + IXPE foam stack is a genuine differentiator — it's the kind of dampening configuration you'd normally add yourself after buying a cheaper kit. Here it's already done.
The only real trade-off is the wireless mode switch: it's under the Caps Lock keycap, which requires a keycap puller to access. It works, but it's not seamless if you switch between wired and wireless frequently. Worth knowing before you build.
⚠️ Barebone Notice: This kit does NOT include switches or keycaps. Switches and keycaps must be purchased separately.
⚠️ ISO Enter Key Compatibility: The ISO Enter key on this layout is compatible with 3-pin MX switches only. 5-pin switches require pin trimming or will not seat correctly on this specific key position.
